The Objective Actigraphy Study in Sleep of Children with Intellectual Disability and their Siblings (OASIS) Project

The research team at the University of Birmingham is aiming is to better understand the relationship between poor sleep and chronic ill health, as well as the impact on same-household sibling sleep.

We are recruiting children with complex health needs and their same-household siblings aged 4-15 years to take part in our sleep study. Caregivers are invited to first complete an online questionnaire about both children and a telephone interview. Following this stage, both children will then be required to wear an actigraphy motion watch both day and night for 10 consecutive days. All aspects of the project will be conducted remotely, within the children’s own home.
